The position

In this versatile function, your main focus is to build a permanent team and focus on the guests, furthermore, you are responsible for the daily operational affairs of Hotel Die Port van Cleve, to this includes:

• Directly responsible for the Front Office, Restaurant, Kitchen & Housekeeping departments and indirectly responsible for the Technical Service

• Oversee short-, medium- and long-term planning

• Increasing and guaranteeing the desired service level

• Proactively prevent and actively respond to possible incidents, complaints, and calamities, in accordance with the guidelines of Aeon Plaza Hotels

• Ensuring compliance with procedures, giving instructions, and taking the initiative to improve these procedures and instructions

• Personnel policy; including deployment based on personnel budget, recruitment & selection, personnel changes, and review interviews

• Ensure adequate internal control

• Actively contribute to the sales of Hotel Die Port van Cleve and Aeon Plaza Hotels, paying extra attention to upselling, as well as maintaining close contacts with the booking offices for last minute business

• Budget responsible

• Representing Hotel Die Port van Cleve within various (network) organizations

• Member Large MT team Aeon Plaza Hotels

• Duty management tasks (including weekends)

• The hotel manager works independently and partly determines policy and reports directly to the Director of Operations of Aeon Plaza Hotels.

• Minimum HBO work and thinking level

• At least 3 years of experience as an operations Manager or Hotel manager within the hotel industry in a similar organization

• A good knowledge of at least the Dutch and English language, several foreign languages is an advantage

• Knowledge of MS Office and experience with automated cash register and reservation systems

• Representativeness and independence

• A guest-oriented attitude towards our guests and a coaching & motivating attitude towards our employees

• A commercial attitude and a solution-oriented approach

• Excellent communication and social skills
